Exploring: Jackson Square

One of our new favorites places in San Francisco is Jackson Square. The once sleepy outpost bordering Chinatown and North Beach has been transformed into a hotbed of chic boutiques, hipster coffee shops and quaint bookstores. Here are our favorites:
Chapel Hill Coffee
670 Commercial St
Technically in Chinatown, this hidden cafe operates out of a teeny space on Commercial street. The interior here is all white subway tile, wooden counters and exposed bulbs. Grab dim sum at City View restaurant down the street and then head here for Four Barrel coffee.
Kokkari Estiatorio
200 Jackston St
A San Francisco mainstay this comfy space offers up modern greek cuisine – grilled octopus, lamp chops and roasted branzino. Reservations are a must.
William Stout Architectural Books
804 Montgomery St
This cozy bookshop stocks 1000s of titles on the subjects of art, architecture and design. They also have a publishing arm which produces books focused on the Bay Area.
Guideboat
441 Jackson St
Launched by a duo behind such successes as YouTube (heard of them?) and Restoration Hardware, Guideboat was inspired by the Adirondack lifestyle and focuses on all things boat related. Shop here for everything from wax wear field coats and American felling axes to French terry sweaters.
APC
407 Jackson St
Come here for wardrobe staples like striped tees, trench coats and well made jeans. They also stock Outdoor Voices, one of our favorite brands of work out gear.
Isabel Marant
455 Jackson St
You don’t need to travel to France to achieve Parisien cool girl chic. Stock up on bohemian sweaters, slick jewelry and too cool boots, all in an airy space with white washed floors and walls.
